The 20% part isn't bad, considering that if all 4 players bring one, you would get a cumulative 80% bonus, which, for sniper rifles, is a pretty solid buff. But I'll agree that an aura that only ranks up to 5 (10 with matching polarity) is pretty disappointing energy-wise, compared to say Rifle Amp with 7 (14 matching).Opticor is somewhat bugged, as it won’t register hitting the Syanovia if parts of the beam touch the main body. Snipers like Rubico (Prime) and Lanka do the job just as well without that major flaw.

Posted January 16, 2015. Rifle Amp affects snipers AFAIK. Dead Eye has slightly higher bonus for snipers, but it provides less mod points and it's generally less useful for your teammates. Since the amp auras are additive with other base damage mods, you get maybe 5-10% damage increase from rifle amp (depending on your mods), so it's probably difficult to notice any difference.
